About

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I started it to show my friends what I’ve been sewing. Also to stay in touch with my incredibly rich design and sewing pals around the states.

  5. Hi Gayle,
It's Karen Pratt Fuqua... a voice from your past. I love your fashion sense. It is so inspirational. A one point you gave the name of a very sheer t-shirt that works great for layering, could you share that information with me? My youngest is getting married in May and there's no way these arms are going to be bare! Hope you are well. With fond memories, Karen

  10. Gayle..I just stumbled upon your blog while looking at button necklaces..I have now spent hours reading and looking at pictures. EVery piece (but one) I would put on and wear right now.. OMG..if I could only sew PLUS the use of thrifted products is after my heart and soul....since I do not sew I have to purchase my items NEW! Just not the same..
One thing I think I could do was one of your great fabric necklaces that you showed to wear to your goddaughters wedding, I believe..could you direct me to directions, patterns, class etc that is up that alley..I live in Portland Oregon six months and in the Palm Springs area .. in the past I retired from the real world and the made jewelry from old typewriter keys and parts, knit FUN things..collected buttons, played around with vintage game pieces and have a tub or two of felted sweaters.
I am so very jealous of your talent.. FYI. I still consider thrift store shopping a wonderful past time, except I have to pay someone to sew my LITTLE ideas...I hope u r as happy as your blog...bless you

  11. Gayle. Just stumbled upon your blog and must I say two things, I am a young senior and do not sew, 2nd I am green and yellow in envy and jealousy of your talent and every single thing you make.. I would wear each and every one (except short vest type item) without a second blink. PLEASE FIND A TIME LIKE MACHINE and trade that part of your life with me...maybe for just a week or two.. I do not know which is up my alley more, the fun colors, the fun and funky put together, or that the material is recycled..I LOVE IT..I am sure u realize that to buy your type products they r made out of new materials and cost a fortune..but that is ok, I love you anyway..I did some recycled art and did some shows, but my back has me limiting my shows..I have tubs of felted sweaters and finally donated most of it, am going to be making a couple of button necklaces with my grand moms vintage buttons etc when we go home up north in a couple of months..we spend summer near Palm Springs..I go to all the BEAUTIFUL art shows etc etc and consider going to thrift stores a treasure hunt..
I was looking at the wonderful necklace you made to wear to a wedding...it appears that it is hand sewn..could you direct me to a book or class or directions to make one?? Okay, maybe two. I LOVE COLOR oh blah blah..
I do hope that you enjoy everyday and every class you attend, you r so blessed and talented.
Thank you, Elaine Williams. Reply to eeofoc@comcast.net
